My First Time Getting Laser Hair Removal at Ideal Image!

Hey babes!

I hope you all are having a kick ass start to your New Year! I'm so sorry I took such a long personal leave from blogging... One of my biggest weaknesses is that I always have to be on the go, and tend to forget to take time for myself. Unfortunately it all caught up with me, but now I'm good to go! :)

As some of you may have seen, Carly and I are starting to build out a new brand called 'Carby Carly and Fatty Maddie' via IG (@carbycarlyandfattymaddie), and we are so excited to show you what we have coming up. It's going to involve vlogging, traveling, and lots of fun lifestyle content. I will also be getting back on my personal grind now that I am feeling refreshed and motivated again. So stay tuned!

IDEAL IMAGE

I have been DYING to finally share all about my first experience at Sunset Hill's Ideal Image for weeks, and now that I'm back to the blogging life I have a lot to fill ya'll in on! I am very excited to finally answer some of the burning questions I received in my inbox!

Growing up I had a super weird thing about body hair, so laser hair removal has always been in the back of my mind, I was honestly just scared to go in an office and get it done. Once I heard about the Black Friday Blowout Sale Ideal Image was having, and researching more into what getting the treatment was actually like- I was IN! Since this sale is only ONCE a year, I had to get it while it was hot and get the courage to just do it! The Blowout sale wasn't JUST on laser hair removal either, it was on ALL services that they offer. Varying from cool sculpting, injectables (including Botox, Dysport, Juvederm, Kybella, Restylane, and Voluma), Ultherapy, and BBL/IPL Photo facials!

The Treatment:

Let's be honest here.. The sound of laser hair removal sounds awfully painful.. Prior to going thru the 10 minute treatment I was convinced that it was going to be as brutal as using Nair for the first time, or getting a Brazilian (because I'm dramatic af haha).

Little did I know it is SO much faster, and way less painful then it sounds, thank God.

I was able to meet with my lovely treatment provider, Kim a few days prior to my appointment on Black Friday, and was able to ask a few questions/concerns that I had about the treatment itself, and how it worked (a lot of these I ask in the live Facebook video which is linked below).

When I went in for my pre-treatment Kim looked to see if my hair was course and dark enough to be treatable, which it was. My skin has always been super good about not getting irritated when I shave, however my hair does grow fairly fast, which is why I wanted to get treated. She then told me to not shave two days prior so that the hair is visibly present. In the video below, Kim explains how the laser itself actual works and how it diminishes the treated hairs after several treatments.

The day of my treatment, Kim had me remove my deodorant and gave me sunglasses to wear so that the laser wouldn't hurt my eyes. She then marked different sections in my arm pit region so that she knew which areas she had covered since after the laser hits the skin there are no marks left. She then turned on the machine and set it to setting one according to my skin type and started the treatment.

I would say that the pulse from the laser were exactly as Kim described, very similar to light rubber bands hitting the skin over and over again. In the middle of my arm pits was where it was most sensitive, but honestly it didn't hurt. It was more annoying then painful would be the best way to describe it, sort of like getting a tattoo.

I still can't get over how QUICK the treatment was! The treatment time can be anywhere from as little as 10 minutes, or more depending on if your skin is sensitive. However, when I come back for my next treatment Kim mentioned that the pulses may be a little more intense the further into the treatments I get, but honestly the results are seriously already worth it to me!

Post treatment it's ok to use Aloe for cooling, and to help any tingling subside. It's important not to expose your newly lasered area to any sun (tanning beds etc.) for a while after getting treated because that can result in pigmentation issues.

After the Treatment:

I was so happy that post hair removal I wasn't super sensitive because back in the day I did a stand up tanning bed and burnt my arm pits and it was beyond painful. Kim had mentioned it could feel like a light sunburn so I was a little bit nervous about feeling that burning sensation again, luckily it was just a teeny bit sensitive over anything.

About 7-10 days post treatment was when one's hair follicles actually 'fall out.' I noticed my arm pit hairs appeared to be growing those 7 days because I had to shave once or twice before they really went away. After about a week of the treatment my arm pits were seriously silky smooth! I can't even tell you how weird it was to lift up my arms sometimes and think that I had stubble because I hadn't shaved in five days, and was like WOW there's actually nothing there! Haha CRAY CRAY! Now that it's been 8 weeks, it's time for me to go in and get my second treatment which I will also be showcasing live via my personal Facebook account and business page, There's Moore to It. The hair isn't completely back to normal but it is starting to sprout in patches so it's time for me to go back!

I will post to IG and Facebook to let you know the exact date I will be doing my next Live.

*Typically patients will have to be treated 8-9 times before their hair follicles stops growing. This is because each treatment gets rid of 10-20% of hair follicles! Luckily this treatment. Sometimes patients do end up having to come back in for a few touch up treatments due to hormonal changes (yes being a woman is SOOO fun I know ugh).

Why I Chose Ideal Image:

I have heard so many good things about Ideal Image from friends, and news outlets that choosing Ideal Image for my laser hair removal was a no brainer for me! Ideal Image's staff are expert medical and nursing professionals meaning that you are getting top of the line treatment in any procedure you choose from. All of their laser hair removal equipment is guaranteed to actually get rid of your hair follicles instead of just 'freezing' them like other medical spa's do. That is why they are ranked #1 for Laser Hair Removal in the United States! Can I get a HELL YESSSS! There is nothing worse then being deceived in big decisions like this, so that is ultimately why I chose Ideal Image. I seriously can't wait to get my legs done NEXT! Ahhh ladies this is seriously such a game changer!

Thank you Kim, Mandy, and Nichole for helping me make this life changing experience and making me feel comfortable thru it all! Sunset Hill's Ideal Image location will also be having an event every Wednesday called "Wrinkle Relaxer Wednesday" where they will have Botox and Dysport 15% off, and you receive an area FREE! I haven't gotten any fillers in my face yet, but need to start getting it for wrinkle prevention so your girl may be in there very soon for some Botox! ;)

Also be sure to follow Ideal Image via their Social pages to stay updated!

I hope you all enjoyed my Live Video! It was the first one I've ever done, so I promise I will improve over time haha! Well I hope so anyways because Carly and I are going to be starting a YouTube Channel here shortly ;)
